Francis and Debra planned a special Christmas themed wedding that was more a party for all of their friends and family. The ceremony took place in a beautiful church built in the 1800's in Staten Island and the reception was at EJ Michael's. The best part of the evening was that the first snow of the year took place as we exited the church and made our way to the limo. Above is a photo of that moment.

Kristen and Justin - Post Wedding Shoot

Justin and Kristen were referred to me by the great Cheryl Matias (of Something New by Cheryl - Day of Coordinator) who was one of my past brides. Funny thing is that Kristen and I knew each other as we used to work together at a law firm. Justin and Kristen were married in July and they wanted to do a post wedding shoot with me to try and get a different perspective on things. We hit the downtown Philadelphia area and took photos at Love Park, the Rocky stairs at the Philadelphia Museum, City Hall and Paddy's Pub. I have always loved street photography and gritty photos so it was great to combine that with a couple of snazzy dressers. I can say that shooting in Philadelphia was great. I would never have gotten away with any of our poses had I tried to shoot them in New York City. I was able to lay down in the middle of a busy street (on a median) and shoot the couple with City Hall in the background. If I would have done that in New York I would probably be in jail right now! Anyway Philadelphia, my one gripe is that most people thought the couple had actually gotten married that day, and other than those who had really nice things to say, two people had some discouraging words for the couple. It is not nice to tell a groom he had just committed suicide in front of his bride on their supposed wedding day! That will make a bride cry. I am glad it was not their actual wedding day and that it was a post wedding day shoot. It was kind of funny though. I love Philly.
Larry and Tina

Larry and Tina had both their ceremony and reception at The Primavera Regency. The staff and the food were excellent. Tina was radiant and you could really see how in love she and Larry were. Tina's mom was so sweet and she reminded me of my own Italian family. Too bad little Dookie (the pomeranian) couldn't make it to the festivities!
Peter and Stephanie

Peter and Stephanie were such a beautiful couple and their families were a blast. I have never seen such a swinging party, as their reception at Merrimakers in Sea Bright. I do not think one person remained in their seat. What a great time for everyone. It seemed more like a giant bash than a wedding reception and it kicked off with a song by Kiss. You can't beat that!

Joseph and Michelle

Joseph and Michelle were married in late October on a beautiful Fall day. I had a great time chatting with the two of them as we got ready for their wedding and I was excited to work with them as Michelle herself is a photographer. Their reception at the Robert B. Meyer Reception Center was a lot of fun and everyone was on their feet thanks to DJ Adam of This Magic Moment.
More Boudoir!

Boudoir photography is my new love. I had a great session with a stunning bride, who shall remain nameless as her photos have yet to be gifted to her betrothed. However, I can tell you that she and I were a dynamic duo while brainstorming for this session and we had a great time. I know her upcoming wedding will be a blast.
David and Elena

David and Elena got married at the Perth Amboy Armory, otherwise known as Seabra's. The outside of the building is rustic and the inside is a beautiful nautical design somewhat reminiscent of The Titanic. We had a lot of fun taking group photos out on the balcony overlooking the ocean. Their reception was quite the party thanks to "Anonymous" the amazing R&B band who performed all evening. Good luck David and Elena!

Shawn and Brynn at The Manor in West Orange

I began the day spending time with Brynn and her bridesmaids while they were getting their hair and make up done. I am really glad to have gotten to spend time with such great people. What a tight knit group. After venturing to The Manor to start our photos we had a bit of a mis-start due to the rainy weather. However, things dried up just in time for Brynn to have her dream outdoor ceremony at The Manor's beautiful gardens. The reception was a blast and the crowd was definitely having a great time. I hope Brynn and Shawn love their photos as much as I do.

Dominick and Sarah

You may not realize what a fan I am of tattoos. This made working with Dominick and Sarah an amazing experience for me because I got to bring my love of tattoos into a wedding shoot. Sarah and Dominick did things their own way, starting with a blue engagement ring, a low key event at a restaurant in Princeton and dancing their first dance to the Grateful Dead. Dominick even had some slick patent leather Nikes on with his tux. We completely lucked out with some good weather and the rest of the photos from this event can be seen here. Some of the photos from this wedding will be featured on rocknrollbride.com. Be on the lookout!

Boudoir

This past weekend I had my first boudoir session and I loved it. I was able to bring my love for old hollywood photos and pin up art together to create some really nice images. As the bride I worked with has not yet given the photos to her betrothed I will not mention any names or show her face on the photos. I don't want to ruin the surprise. I'm looking forward to doing more boudoir work in the future.
John and Katerina

I worked with John and Katerina on their wedding of August 14th at Eagle Oaks Golf and Country Club in Farmingdale. I was excited to do their wedding because I had worked with the bride's family once before (for her sister's wedding a year ago). It was great to deal with such a nice family again. After an outdoor ceremony which took place during the sun's golden hour :) we had a great photo session with the newlyweds and then a lively reception. Some photos are shown above.
Workshop with Kevin Kubota and Doug Gordon

On August 4th and 5th I attended a workshop with Doug Gordon and Kevin Kubota. If you don't know who they are you definitely should. The workshop was amazing and we were shown new posing and lighting techniques as well as how to better manage work flow and editing issues. Everyone who was in attendance was impressed and lots of friends were made. I will definitely attend more of these in the future. Above is an image from our trash the dress session.
Cheryl and Mike

On August 8, 2009 I had the pleasure of working with Cheryl and Mike on their wedding day. Cheryl and I became close during the planning of her wedding and I met with her several times to discuss the type of photos we would take at her wedding, to visit the wedding venue together, and of course just to hang out. I am really happy with the results and I congratulate them on a beautiful marriage.
Photos from their wedding can be seen here.
